Celebrate single mothers with us on 5.2.21

urban university’s annual marquee event on May 2nd honors the single mothers we serve and the community that supports us! You will be inspired as we honor Shaleah our successful single mother graduate, key supporters, and heroic community members. We are raising funds for our Single Mothers at Work program, as well as our new Sewing Collaborative Project. Join us for a heartwarming and inspiring event that you won’t soon forget!

We are so pleased to note that the keynote speaker will be Nikki Fortunato Bas, Council President and Councilmember for District 2 in Oakland.  Councilmember Bas has been a community organizer for over 20 years and is leading the passage of policies in Oakland to create the building blocks for regional, state, and national change. Councilmember Bas will be honoring our SHERO Awardees for their tireless work in building up Oakland’s communities.

We’ve also put together a special panel to lift the voices of mothers so we can listen, learn, and support. The Sidewalk Talk is our annual signature event that is normally held outside of our store on Grand Avenue. This year, you’ll be able to enjoy the event from the comfort of your home.

Lastly, attendees will have a chance to place bids on an array of covetable items. From an iPad to artwork to wine, there’s something for everyone. Click here to shop for a good cause!

All net funds raised will support single mothers and their families. Don’t miss this event. Click here to purchase a ticket!
